Sudden Sex: Dress Code, by N.T Morley

Alison Tyler really knows how to pick ’em. This is the final of the 4 stories in Sudden Sex that I signed up to review, and boy is it ever a good one!

“Dress Code”, by N.T Morley, is about a very dirty game that a husband and wife play together in public: a way for a woman to get what she wants and what she craves. There’s a great balance in this story between love and debauchery.

The erotic action is ratcheted up slowly, as Fiona’s outfits get raunchier and we learn the non-verbal cues that her husband has to read. There’s a sense of unspoken erotic negotiation throughout the piece, which is titillating, and at the same time reinforces the couple’s closeness. The rules and rituals around their game are really hot, particularly the way the husband doesn’t know exactly what he’s in for, but is expected to prepare for all scenarios, regardless.

I really liked the way Morley makes you feel complicit in their game: there’s a confessional tone to the story and I have to say, I felt pretty naughty myself just reading it. The story is H.O.T. And it’s given me some brand new ideas for my own date nights, too…
