Soundtrack to a story

Most of the time I don’t like to write to music, but I do find it helpful to make a playlist that reflects the mood I’m trying to create. I’ll listen to it when the details of the plot and characters are still coming together, or when I’ve hit a wall.

Here’s the mix I put together for a recent story about a lonely succubus called Althea.

Bat for Lashes – “Moon and Moon”

The Kills – “Future Starts Slow”

TV on the Radio – “DLZ”

The Black Keys – “Tighten Up”

The Black Keys – “The Go Getter”

The Black Keys – “Black Mud”

Massive Attack – “Paradise Circus”

Massive Attack – “Paradise Circus (Zeds Dead remix)”

TV on the Radio – “Wolf Like Me”
